Nextel high temperature ceramic insulation is offered with 2 types of overbraiding. XC is the standard braid and XT is a tightly woven braid. The 2 types affect only the amount of Nextel used, not the overall temperature rating.

Silica is a high purity (SiO2 > 99%) ceramic yarn, that offers high temperature protection up to 1050°C at an economical price.
